  17. <p>    When Michael Jackson moonwalked across a Los Angeles stage
  18. last week, a musical era may have ended. The pop phenom vowed
  19. that the final stop on his 17-month-long Bad tour would be his
  20. last concert date. Why the last? It's partly Michael mystique
  21. and partly that Jackson prefers to focus on films and records.
  22. Staying off the road may prove hard on the purse -- the 123 Bad
  23. concerts attracted 4.4 million paying fans. But the reclusive
  24. star will hardly go broke working at home. The Bad album has
  25. sold 19 million copies, grossed a record-setting $125 million
  26. and yielded a new mark with five No. 1 hit singles. Not bad at
  27. all.
