- <p> When Michael Jackson moonwalked across a Los Angeles stage
- last week, a musical era may have ended. The pop phenom vowed
- that the final stop on his 17-month-long Bad tour would be his
- last concert date. Why the last? It's partly Michael mystique
- and partly that Jackson prefers to focus on films and records.
- Staying off the road may prove hard on the purse -- the 123 Bad
- concerts attracted 4.4 million paying fans. But the reclusive
- star will hardly go broke working at home. The Bad album has
- sold 19 million copies, grossed a record-setting $125 million
- and yielded a new mark with five No. 1 hit singles. Not bad at
- all.
